The Chevy Cruze is Recognized by Consumers Report

The Consumers Report’s April edition just released its “10 Top Picks” for the best new vehicles of 2017.  The winners were from a group of 2017 cars that the Report suggests are “outstanding all-around performers—shown to be reliable, safe, and satisfying. That means they have scored high in our stringent track tests and extensive owner surveys.”  Consumers Report notes that these 10 top cars have won the praises of the staff and they recommend each of the vehicles with confidence. 

At the Dan Chevrolet dealership, we are pleased to report that the Chevrolet Cruze was awarded the “Top Pick” in the Compact Car category.  Based on the Report’s track tests and owner surveys, the Cruze got an overall score of 78, which was the composite of three measures: Road Test, Reliability, and Owner Satisfaction.   The publication states the Cruze delivers “big car virtues in a small package.”  They add that, “The Cruze takes the best attributes of Chevrolet’s accomplished Malibu and Impala, as well as the brand’s familiar styling, and tucks them into a more maneuverable and fuel-efficient package.”

Consumers Reports notes the Cruze offers passengers a comfortable ride with a relatively roomy interior and that the compact is a fully competitive entry in a class dominated by imported cars.  In fact, according to their research, it beats out the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, which accounts for the high overall score.  They explain that the shrunk down version of the Malibu and Impala maintains the “commendable driving manners and generous available features.”  The vehicle has an estimated overall 30 mpg but Consumer Reports cites statistics that show it can get up to 47 mpg on the highway.
